In fact, 50% of all broadband customers use cable, 42% use DSL, and 8% use fiber-optic cable, satellite, or a wireless system. However, DSL dominates in Europe and the rest of the world. Cable and DSL both have been around for years with steady upgrades and improvements, though their methods for delivering high-speed data are very different.
